Sleaford Classic Car and Motorcycle show has now been running for over 30 years and has always been located in the heart of the Sleaford to facilitate easy access for entrants and visitors alike, to support local facilities, businesses and other attractions within the town centre. This is very much a community event which is run by a small group of volunteers for the enjoyment of enthusiasts and for a great family day out, whilst raising awareness of, and supporting local good causes.

Since moving the event to the Recreation Ground on Boston Road in 2024 the show has gone from strength to strength. With the additional space this affords, the number of vehicles on display has doubled in just two years and the number and variety of trade stands and catering facilities are increasing to take advantage of the much-increased visitor numbers.

The show, which has become widely regarded as the most friendly and well organised event in the area, is now an integral part of the local calendar, with other organisations coordinating their events on the same day, to provide a range of entertainment within the town for everyone to enjoy.

Recently we have invested a significant amount of time and effort in improving our communications channels using our much-improved website (www.sccms.co.uk) social media presence, local broadcast media and press coverage. This in turn gives a wider media coverage to our sponsors, traders and charities who take part in the show.

However, as a result of our success in growing the event and faced with the current economic climate, we, as with any small enterprise, find ourselves having to fund increasing overheads and general costs (insurance, permits, welfare provisions, general goods and services etc.) We also find that the requirements of the Local Authorities and Emergency Services, in respect of event/public safety are becoming increasingly onerous and time consuming.

We are a “not-for-profit” organisation and all of the volunteers involved give their time and expertise freely in order that we can maximise the funds raised to support local charities and good causes. Without the support of our sponsors and the income from our traders, exhibitors and visitor donations the show could not continue in its current form.

Therefore, we are always looking for additional help to keep our show “on the road”, your support to our event would be very much appreciated and you can be assured that any surplus funds raised will be passed on to our chosen “charity” organisations.
